Arcane writer Amanda Overton recently revealed why certain Ekko and Jinx scenes were cut from season 2, sparking heated debate among fans.

In response to a Reddit inquiry about Ekko and Jinx's interactions during the Piltover/Zaun war preparations, Overton explained: "We deliberately left that to the audience's imagination. Since we spent so much time with them in episode 7 every scene between during that time felt like rehashing what we had already shown."

Episode 7 explored Ekko's experience in an alternate universe where Powder (Jinx's former self) survived, featuring romantic moments between the pair. The writers suggested these scenes were meant to parallel potential interactions between Ekko and Jinx in the main timeline.

However, fans strongly disagree with this creative decision. Many point out that Jinx and Powder are fundamentally different characters due to their distinct lived experiences and trauma. The history between Jinx and Ekko includes violence against the Firelights, making their relationship significantly more complex than the alternate universe version.

Bloomberg reports that Arcane exceeded its budget, forcing difficult decisions about screentime allocation. While the "Timebomb" pairing (Ekko and Jinx) remains popular among fans, many argue that such a relationship development needed more on-screen foundation.

Though Arcane won't receive a third season, co-creator Christian Linke confirmed that other League of Legends shows are in development, with one project already a year into production.
