Riot's Extreme Anti-Lane Swap Changes Hit PBE, But Players Find Loopholes

Riot Games has introduced aggressive measures on the PBE to eliminate lane-swapping in League of Legends. The new "Lane Swap Detection" system implements severe penalties for players attempting this strategy between 1:30-3:30 for top lane and 1:30-2:15 for mid lane.
Key changes include:
- 95% damage reduction for opposite side's turret
- Turrets one-shot minions
- Gold and XP funneled to nearest champion
- Lane-swappers receive half gold and XP from minions
- Top lane specific: Turrets one-shot champions and enemy champions get 50% damage reduction near their turret

Riot Phroxzon states these measures are temporary while they work on long-term solutions. The goal is to make professional League of Legends more closely resemble regular gameplay.
However, experts like coach YamatoCannon have identified potential workarounds. Players can still execute lane swaps by:
- Placing top laner bot with support
- Moving mid laner top
- Positioning ADC mid
- Rotating support back to mid after 2:15
The community remains divided on these changes. While some celebrate the removal of an unexciting tactic, others worry about the impact on weaker bot lane duos who relied on lane swapping to avoid early game snowballing.
These aggressive measures demonstrate Riot's determination to eliminate lane swapping, though the current implementation may need refinement to fully achieve its intended purpose.
