Yike aims to lead Karmine Corp to glory after G2 departure
After leaving G2 Esports following their 2024 World Championship exit, Martin "Yike" Sundelin has found a new home with Karmine Corp, where he aims to establish himself as a team leader.
The Swedish jungler brings valuable experience from his time at G2, where he demonstrated versatility with both supportive champions like Ivern and Maokai, as well as aggressive picks like Vi and Lillia. "My goal is always to be best at the strongest champions," Yike explained, highlighting his adaptable playstyle.
At Karmine Corp, Yike faces a new challenge as one of the team's veteran voices. With two teenage teammates in Vladimiros "Vladi" Kourtidis and Caliste "Caliste" Henry-Hennebert, plus Korean import Canna who is still developing his English skills, Yike sees an opportunity to step up. "Me and Targamas want to take the role of being more of the leaders in the team," he stated.
The transition to Karmine Corp has been smooth, with Yike praising the team atmosphere and staff. He's already shown promise in his debut match against G2 at the 2024 Red Bull League of Its Own event, where he helped secure victory with a strategic 0/0/11 performance.
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, Yike's ambitions are clear: "I just want to be a team where every single team fears us, same as G2 last year." His journey continues when he faces his former team in week one of the LEC Winter split, where he'll have another chance to prove himself as both a competitor and leader.
