Willump is the last magical yeti in Runeterra and guardian of an ancient crystal that reveals mortal dreams. Originally tasked with protecting his race's power, he remained alone after Lissandra's betrayal nearly freed the Watchers, causing the yetis to lose their powers and descend into savagery.

As a guardian, Willump possesses keen perception to determine worthy recipients of the crystal's magic. For centuries, he encountered only humans seeking violence, responding with equal aggression. Over time, he forgot his past and even his name.

Everything changed when a young boy named Nunu approached him with a flute. Instead of attacking, the boy played music that awakened visions of heroes and giants in the crystal. Their friendship began with snowball fights, and Willump's fearsome growl transformed into laughter.

When Willump accidentally broke Nunu's flute, the crystal revealed both their sorrows - Willump's lost people and Nunu's burning caravan. Recognizing Nunu as the Freljord's hope, Willump shared the crystal's power with him, giving the boy ability to manifest his imagination, including creating a True Ice flute and naming his new best friend "Willump."
