Kog'Maw Complete Champion Guide: Master the Void ADC Hypercarry
Kog'Maw is an exceptional hypercarry marksman who excels at shredding through tanky targets with his powerful ability combinations and on-hit effects.
Passive - Icathian Surprise Upon death, Kog'Maw gains 40% movement speed and can move for 4 seconds before exploding, dealing 140-650 true damage to nearby enemies. During this time, he can't attack but also can't be targeted or controlled.
Basic Abilities:
- Q (Caustic Spittle): Passively grants attack speed. When activated, fires a projectile that deals magic damage and reduces target's armor and magic resistance for 4 seconds.
- W (Bio-Arcane Barrage): Increases attack range by 130-210 units and adds magic damage to basic attacks for 8 seconds. Damage is capped at 100 against minions and monsters.
- E (Void Ooze): Fires a line of sludge that deals magic damage and slows enemies for 1 second.
- R (Living Artillery): Launches long-range acid bombs every 2/1.5/1 seconds, dealing magic damage based on target's missing health. Damage doubles against targets below 40% health. Each cast within 8 seconds costs 40 additional mana.
Skill Order Priority:
- W - Bio-Arcane Barrage (max first)
- Q - Caustic Spittle
- R - Living Artillery (at levels 6/11/16)
- E - Void Ooze (1 point at level 4 or delay until 8/13)
Core Strategy:
- Focus on maximizing damage during W's active duration
- Manage mana carefully, especially with R usage
- Position safely and utilize maximum attack range
- Build attack speed and on-hit effects rather than critical strike
- Coordinate with support for protection during early game
The key to mastering Kog'Maw is proper positioning and timing of Bio-Arcane Barrage, as it's his primary damage tool. Without W active, Kog'Maw loses significant damage output and range advantage.
Note on E usage: After Season 13 buffs, the slow remains relatively weak at 30% for one second, making it less priority for AD carry builds.
Building Path: Focus on attack speed and on-hit effect items to maximize W's effectiveness. Critical strike items are generally not prioritized in optimal builds.
